We knew we ought to have work done on our roof and a winter drip through the ceiling persuaded us that the time had come. Graham assessed the situation, they made some emergency repairs in poor weather and judged that the rest could be done when the weather improved. This has now been done, efficiently, professionally and to a high standard. In fact it looks as if the final bill will be a bit less than was first assessed. Highly recommended!

Lander & Linsey were contracted to install a new roof, fascias, soffets, guttering and a loft floor. Most of the work looked reasonably well enough to pass building control...but the loft floor turned out to be the disaster which marred the whole experience. Bro, whatever these guys could do wrong...they did. Floor areas with no insulation board underneath, no insulation at points along the eaves, excessive gaps between the insulation boards with no foam, duct tape instead of foil tape covering those gaps that they did tape. They even cut off bits of timber in the loft without consulting me and that I would have preferred not to have been cut. Makes me feel as if there was some ulterior motive in their actions. I had another team come in to complete the loft floor installation and install a new loft hatch/ladder. They found the hidden discrepancies above and pitied me so much for the poor Lander & Linsey workmanship that they re-did most of it for next to nothing. So due to this Lander & Linsey experience I am now scarred and will never hire another British maintenance contractor if I can at all help it, with the possible exception of those that I had already rated as excellent here (and there is just 1 of those). Obviously I would not recommend L&L, but if you do intend to use them then check their fleeting warranty/gaurantee before accepting an offer and ensure the workers sent out are fit to do all of the work.
