My German shepherd was 13 yrs old and suffered from paralysis in his hind legs. Today i took the awful decision that it was time. They were brilliant. The receptionist, the nurse and the Vet all took time to make sure my decision was sensitively and professionally handled. I will always hold them in my heart.

Recommended for male cat neutering. If not already "Avoid lifting your cat" needs adding to their after neutering do's and don'ts list.

Harrowing and distressing. Having been a dog owner all of my adult life, I have had a few dogs put to sleep which is always very sad experience. Yesterday, we had to have our 15 year old beauty put to sleep. This was the worst experience of our lives. We were asked to leave the room, whilst the cannula was put it. We spent, what seemed like an age, possibly 10 mins, listening to our darling dog screaming and stressed, which was so upsetting. We were then called in to the room, saying they had to sedated her as they had been successful in getting the cannula in. Surely, they should have sedated her right from the start. The vet was intent on telling us about her aunt, who had recently died, which we thought totally inappropriate. Basically the last 10 minutes of our dogs life, prior to the sedation was extremely stressful and terrifying for her, without us present to help calm her . We feel we have done our dog an in justice, which has scarred us both. Seems a complete lack of empathy by both the vet and the nurse and our feeling's were not taken into consideration. We are happy to not have to use this vet again.
