Took them to Court and Won. Without a doubt the worst company I've had the pleasure of dealing with and one to avoid! Far better CCTV companies with far better products and levels of customer service out there! They refused to provide me with a 14 day refund under the distance selling act, citing that their products are exempt from this once opened. This is not the case. Their products are audio and video recorders, which are NOT exempt. The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 clearly state the only exemptions are "for the supply of audio or video recordings or computer software if they are unsealed by the consumer;". A recording device IS NOT the same as a recording! If you have any trouble getting a refund from them, take them to court. I did- and I won. My arguement: 1) Their policy is unfair as there is no way to physically inspect the product purchased without breaking the 'security seal' tape on the delivery box. 2) The agreed terms and conditions at point of purchase did not clearly state their refund policy (actually, it didn't say anything about their returns and refund policy) and are unfair as they are not clearly written in a way the average consumer can clearly understand. 3) The product purchased is a audio and video recording device and is not exempt from The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 as section 13 (d) only specifies audio, video recordings and software are exempt. A recorder and a recording are two totally different things. If you require evidence of my court case, you can request a FOI of county court cases for Swann Communications Ltd (UK).

They tried to rip off my friend he had to take them to court. He won his case but he shouldn't of had to take it so far. The company tried to violate his consumer rights.
