NHBC confirmed to me that something can be installed not in accordance with their standards but it is only covered by their warranty if discovered within the first two years of cover (despite being so called 10 year warranty).
Absolutely insane levels of collusion with builders who know major issues can be hidden and by the time theyre discovered it will not be covered by their 10 year buildmark policy. NHBC is not on the side of the consumer and is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
