The facilities for the business rooms are quite basic, but had everything we needed. Like most of the hotel, it's like stepping back into the 1990's with the dcor, although everything is spotlessly clean.
The catering is very average, breakfast was fine, lots of selection and most of what you could want, but basic quality. Lunch has a reasonable offering and tasted fresh. Dinner, which we had a 3 course meal for, was a little disappointing, it was very basic food, dry chicken, peas with onions (?!) and an unidentifiable food item, which I'm still wondering what it was made from.
The bar upstairs was frustrating - only two members were not enough at peak times, meaning we were waiting for around 10 mins at times to order. The beer on tap has a poor selection, with only the basics of Guinness, a cider, Carling and another lager - most of which had a pipe issue, so we only had Carling available.
The hotel rooms are very basic and compact. Again, very 1990's look and feel. I'm not sure why the light switches have been hidden within the headboard. The room was very hot during the night, so didn't sleep well, but at least the bed was comfortable.
My work paid for this event and stay, so I can only hope the experience was reflected in the price paid.
