This signal shows us how quick technologies come and go. Once a station for goods and passengers, today a redway. The only thing that survived are the allotments. They were already in place when the railway was built... would give it 5 stars but unfortunately some youngsters think they need to express themselves with a spray can...

Whoever was responsible for the refurbishment of this landmark obviously had no knowledge of railways, as the signal arms have been positioned on the wrong side of the post. They should be on the side facing the camera. This is shown in Bill Simpson's book "The Wolverton to Newport Pagnell Branch". This is not a starting signal (that was located on the platform) but is a Home signal, the upper arm being fixed in the "ON" position. The smaller, lower arm was used to call the train forward into the station.
