Synology UK

If anyone cares about their data and especially the availability of that data then do not consider Synology. My DS1019+ stop working after 1.5 years and I am already waiting 5 weeks for a replacement. Apparently I will have to wait another couple of weeks hoping for the best. It is not sure what I will receive back. Will it be the same type of unit or an inferior one which does not do hardware transcoding for my media? I have 2.5 years left of my warranty and I have received no quality customer service from Synology or their distributor. Don't waste your money in a system that will take a very log time to be replaced/repaired or if you do, then know the consequences. Anyone who runs a business cannot afford to be without their data for 5-7 weeks and spent endless time try to coordinate Synology's customer support, the retailer and their distributor!

Technical Support awful, they only give help if the unit ( which may have cost you over 1000.00) to is still under guarantee, no guarantee clear off! especially that the reason is an update and there is no way to roll back to a previous version.
