Barbara was absolutely wonderful and put me at ease straight away. She took time to listen to exactly what I wanted and empowered me to feel comfortable about my body whilst trying on dresses. Barbara went above and beyond in supporting me with choosing my wedding dress. I have an injury in my arm, so Barbara helped me work around this and was very gentle, patient and careful when helping me get dressed. There are so many dresses at the shop to choose from and so many different styles. I was totally spoilt for choice. I went there worried that I wouldn't find anything I liked but I had the opposite problem - I liked too many of them! The prices are amazing too. Barbara was so delightful to work with and so professional. She really made such a safe space for me and I didn't feel like my size was an issue at all - in fact it wasn't even mentioned. Barbara just knew what sizes to get for me to try on without asking me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I massively recommend this shop :) Thank you for helping me find the most magical dress Barbara. I felt like a total princess.

Highly Highly recommend About A Bride. I visited today after taking a gamble and buying my dress online ( from a different company ) and my heart just wasn't with it, Barbara assured me that she could help and stay within my budget, she had a handful of dresses for me to try on this afternoon but I didn't make it past number 2 before knowing it was "The One", fully informed on alterations and swept away by compliments which will always go down well Love Love Love my dress, a huge thank you and can't wait to come back Thank you again

Overall great experience, Barbara was absolutely lovely and very helpful. I went into the shop with no idea of what style of dress I wanted to try on but Barbara was helpful and has the most gorgeous dresses ever and was able to give me loads of options. Her customer service was excellent that me and family were so happy, would definitely recommend Barbara and her business to everyone. She had me feeling confident in myself and made me feel extra special. I wanted to say a big thank you and will definitely be going back to her shop.

I'm really sorry to give a bad review to this shop, as Barbara was absolutely very sweet and highly communicative during the whole process, but unfortunately my experience was not positive. I reached out to Barbara only 3 months before the wedding, as I change my mind often and did not want to settle on a specific dress too soon. She worked hard during my appointment to help me find "the dress", and offered to put together 2 different models to make my perfect dress. Up to here everything went well, she measured me and I pay in full as I know we are all short in time. Very happy with my appointment and the lovely care and attention that was given to me. Once the dress arrives a couple of weeks before my wedding (ordering only 3 months in advance I was not expecting it to arrive much earlier) I go and try it, and the dress does not fit right at all. It is several inches too long, and given the design I cannot change this unless I am willing to lose the design I want. Barbara adds the hugest loop she can find, which still does not solve the problem, and makes me hate my dress with a passion, I am already a plus size bride I do not want to look like a wedding cake. I feel huge and there is nothing I can do. The dress hem got completely destroyed in the first 30 mins of the wedding, I felt horrible and hate my dress and never want to see it again, and hate any pictures taken on the day. Barbara has profusely apologised on the day I was trying the dress on, and even offered to repay any alterations for the length, but all the goodwill gestures in the world cannot unfortunately make up for ruining what is meant to be a magical experience, and as it is a once in a lifetime event it is unfortunate that a one experience gets to create the perception of a business, but it is how it is. I cannot then recommend this business, as I realise most bigger brides already struggle with self love and image issues, and this really gave a big smash to my image issue.
