Found this place at the start of our circular walk round the quarry. The rock park was a few examples of rock types each with their explanation. Good view of the quarry which is interesting. For walkers/hikers I recommend the circular walk the starting point is from the left hand side of the little car park from the rock park. This goes all the way round exiting at the entrance of the quarry. To get back to the rock park car park, just continue on with the path past the quarry entrance and follow it. I will give the rock park 3 stars but the walk 4 stars as part of it gives stunning views.

The rock park is not obvious to find but once there has some useful information boards about local rock types and the history of their extraction. The same site offers some nice walks through the trees although the up-keep of some of the area is less than ideal.

Cute little park brimming with rock facts just off the main road. Small car park and then a short walk uphill to the park. Signs telling you all the rock facts you could want and it's so nice to see the rocks relaxing in their natural habitat. There is some mild excitement as you approach the clearly dangerous haematite closed off in its solitary enclosure, in our visit it was docile! Great view of the working quarry, we visited on a weekend so no activity but visiting during the week would be very interesting. There's a longer walk around the site ending in an observation platform right over the quarry. The interactive aggregate exhibit is not to be missed! I was excited to see the space left to expand the park with more rock types.

Your number one stop for ROCK FACTS! They really do let you get in and amongst the rocks in their natural habitat, the interactive exhibit really is a must, the opportunity to get hands on experience with rocks really isn't to be missed!
