I found my whole experience of this place very upsetting. Please be aware that when you go into this Magistrates Court you will be faced with a scanner and 2 desks so that they can search all of your items. I know that they have some very experienced and welcoming staff, but unfortunately I was seen to by a very rude individual who showed very little respect for a person who was there to support another person with mental health needs. I do not know what this person thought who or what I was doing there, but the way he spoke to me was not something I was would expect from a public servant. I explained to him that unfortunately I had a lot of metal in my body and his scanner was going to go off as I had metal from my shins to my neck. Then when I walked through the scanner the machine went off as expected and this man was telling me to lift my trouser legs up to my knee in the reception area and I refused and said if he wanted me to do that then at the very least he should take me somewhere private to do this. All in all a very unpleasant experience

We had a helpful usher on both days of having to attend due to 2 family members in custody. She ( I didnt get her name, sorry) was helpful, informative and had a friendly approach. It was my first time experiencing this in a court house and I want the lady to know I am very thankful for her help. Praise to the court house for employing such a person. There was a door man that was very miserable and looked like he didnt enjoy his job ( on the first day) but the others were friendly and helpful. Thank you
