Not a pleasant place to work: always short on staff and abusive manner, personally speaking they need a manager who knows what she's doing.

Just want to say that Paula & her team at Cheney House have given exceptional care to my mother in law who has been with them for 2.5 years. Paula has been empathetic and supportive to the wider family as well and has trully gone above and beyond in many instances. Thankyou!

Staff very attentive and caring towards Service Users. Nice bright rooms and frequent activities arranged. The Manager is absolutely fantastic and very supportive.

I write as Susan Kingston (Bari's partner). I came across the care home about 10 years ago and was not too impressed. In fact as a child I lived in the house for about 5 years in the 1940s and 50s (then the Rectory). Whoever "renovated" the house for its present use ruined a very beautiful 17th century house by building a tasteless annex, I was so distressed to see this. There ought to be more care by the planning authority - SUCH UGLY CHANGES MUST NOT BE ALLOWED. When i saw the house last it did not look very pleasant as a care home but as I don't have enough details, I give 3 stars. The big garden obviously sold off years ago, it would have been an asset to residents, but outside power of the management now. The hideous annex if not built could have given some garden space for old folk maybe. I don't like this home.
