Awful staff. My grandad asked for a urine bottle he needs due to poor mobility to which he is told to get himself which resulted in him falling and was left for 10 minutes on the floor before any staff came to help, I was informed by my grandad that he was ignored when asking for help multiple times so I rang up for an update on him which the member of staff Maxine had a terrible attitude and ended up the phone on me. DO NOT PUT YOU ELDERS IN HERE.

My Mum who has Dementia has to go into a care home for up to 3 months due to work required to her home, she actually requested to go back into Middlesbrough Grange particularly as she had 2 weeks respite last year here and enjoyed the care the she received from the staff so much. I dropped her off last Friday early evening, where we were met at the door by 2 members of staff who greeted my mum with a very friendly, Hello Mavis and welcome back, needless to say my mum was over the moon, even more so when she realised that she was in the same room, so she felt right at home straight away, The food as mum tells me every day when I speak to her is amazing in her exact words "its as good as a 5 Star hotel". My mum worked in care homes as well as on the district, so she still understands the care and attention that is required to make a person feel as if they are in there own homes. This in turn helps me to relax as I know she is happy to be this particular care home for the time being at least. I would definitely recommend Middlesbrough Grange to anyone who is looking for a very high standard of care home for an elderly relative.

My mother spent over 12 months here. The care workers are so helpful, kind and made my mother feel welcome. This is supposedly a dementia care home, but we have been given a 4 weeks notice because they can not meet my mothers needs. This is down to management decisions! A couple of small outbursts from my mother, in which she was only retaliating, and they can't deal with it. My mother was the only one who was told to leave whilst other resident were not given a notice. I've removed my mother from there due to no compassion from the management and them dealing with this situation wrongly. As for the pub opening, it was used a couple of times and seems to me like it was only done as a publicity stunt. The care staff do work very hard though. I have seen them working with limited numbers and they deserve a medal for the amount of effort they put into caring for the residents. On numerous occasions, I've found my mothers tablets around her room when she was not supervised appropriately whilst taking them. I hope to god no other family has to go through the heartbreak of taking their family member out and disrupt they lives like we have had to do. Dementia friendly what a joke the management are. Please think again if you were considering this care home!
