After viewing many homes I went into parkville and the first thing I noticed was how clean it was no smell specious care staff were lovely so I decided this was the best place for my husband unfortunately he was only there a few mths and he needed to go back to hospital. Where my lovely husband passed away. What dissapointed me with this nursing home is by no means the carers they were all lovely and couldn't do enough for my husband but after he passed away I received no calls of condolences for my loss no one from the nursing home attended his funeral not even a card and this was down to management not the carers this shows a total lack of compassion by the management. Although the doctors practice the nursing home registered my husband with for the short time he was there found time to send me a card of condolences small gesture but very thoughtfull. I would still like to thank the many carers that supported my husband and myself they were so caring and patient. But I would not recommend this nursing home now.

I did some work here as a contract engineer in March 2019, and can say that it has the air of a place well-managed, clean, and with contented residents. Both my parents were in care homes in The Midlands for over five years, so I got to know how these type of places ran (or didn't), and the key signs of demotivated staff and poor care. The staff at Parkville seem friendly, out-going, caring, and diligent. I can spot all the small signs of this, as I spent large periods of time in homes where things were quite the opposite. Another key sign? Smell. This home smells fresh, looks clean and cared-for. Well done to all.

Awful, awful, care. My uncle recently moved to Parkville which started his slow decline, and he sadly died only a few weeks later. Some of the carers were lovely (if you are one of those find somewhere else to work) but the leadership was appalling. Every single issue that was identified following his death was essentially down to poor communication and lack of proper processes from management. There was no care plan, no notes kept, including no record of any incidents and his diet wasn't observed which subsequently impacted on his diabetes as he was still being given his medication. There was a succession of examples in the short time he was there that I could share; one example was when his main carer (my mum) went to visit him one day she found he wasn't there. After searching for a manager she was told he had been taken into hospital but that was all they knew it seemed and so subsequently had to locate his in hospital which was a feat in itself (according to his hospital admission, he was taken there with hypothermia, but nothing was recorded at the home). There were some subsequent safeguarding issues that were highlighted which I understand are now being followed up, but people deserve better than this. I am a university lecturer in health and social care and this is the sort of case study that we use to describe the antithesis of good, person centred care. Please do not let your vulnerable relatives move there if you want them to be cared for properly.
