Some very interesting growing/ideas/projects happening here with some of the plot holders, what I discovered was a great variety of herbs many of them can be used in teas, foods and some with medical applications on Katies plot, the area had a natural feel with some beds self seeding camomile, pot Marigolds and quite a bit more, close by there was a plot that belonged to John who is a founder/co founder of Ubuntu Multicultural Centre CIC, they are doing great work in the local community with food parcels and I was told that their plot was part of that work and fresh food grown there was going directly to people, close by was a fascinating plot that Sam was working on, there was an ethos of organic sustainable growing involved here, a biodegradable type of fleece covered the beds with wood chip paths, the paths were actually creating compost as the deeper wood chips rotted down, I did see the mycelium at work and understood how this whole process could be used to improve the area. The other plot was another fascinating mixture with herbs, flowers, veg and trees with great emphasis on sustainable living, and again the ethics of organics, permaculture and variety in the things being grown, the relaxed design and even some areas of natural wildness all seemed to go very well together.
