Although situated on a working farm, this was a lovely quiet place to stay. Its down a long road with a dead end, so not much traffic passing by. The bungalow itself was very spacious, with lots of cupboard space in the bedrooms and kitchen - this is especially important to us as we bring our own food and cook daily. The fridge freezer had plenty of room too, although the top shelf of the fridge is very high up. There wasn't any hand soap, so bring your own and the welcome pack consisted of a few tea bags and sugar - no coffee or milk, but not a big deal if you come prepared. There are signs on all the bedroom doors saying 'no dogs', so be mindful of this when booking. The layout is such that you can put your dog bed by the front door and he/she can still feel close if you are in the master bedroom (just a door between you). Hornsea beach (15 mins drive away)is dog friendly, there are plenty of places to eat and there is free parking. Bridlington is just a bit further up (half an hour drive), has cheap parking at the North beach, free toilets and is dog friendly in places. Tesco will deliver to this holiday cottage but might need directing, as the house across the road has a similar name. All in all, a great base to explore from.

If you like rural, peace & quiet and being close to the sea/practically private beech this is definitely for you. You do need a car to get about unless you are happy just relaxing in the hot tub, taking in the views and generally just lazing about. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Hornsea is a lovely place to visit (about 15 mins away) with shops, sea front and a small designer type of shopping centre. Some really nice pubs as well to eat out at and the local chippy in Aldbrough do the best fish and chips we have ever had. All in all, we had a really nice week and met the local dog, called, Rough along with a lovely black/white cat which we could easily have smuggled back home! We didn't have a dog but a great place if you do. Please note though that the local pub/shop isn't walking distance as stated in the Hoseasons details, although only a few minutes in the car.
