My husband received first class care coupled with compassion and kindness during his stay. Our family was also treated with respect and time was given to answer any questions

Great when my mum first went there but when she was on end of life care it was appalling. Her room after COVID was filthy I wouldn't put my pets in there. Found my mum covered in her own feases a few times. I took loads of photos . My mum never got the care she deserved they didn't even ring me to come and sit with her near her time. They rang to say she passed at 3.30 am in the morning. 2carers were brilliant when they were on shift. Others definatly needed more training. I never got to sit with my mum when she passed even though they promised to ring me. Please don't use this care home for your relatives .my mum fell over in her room no one came to her. The resident in the opposite room came to help my mum and called for help. I really wish I taken my mum out of there but meppershalk didn't fill in the paperwork. Not one member of staff attended my mum's funeral even though they were given 2weeks notice. Her care changed when her money run out and I had to apply for funding. They just let the call alarms ring . I witnessed that when I sat with my mum every day on end of life care. Not a good care home at all

My mother has been a resident of New Meppershall for about 20 months now. When she entered the home she was in a very poorly state having declined alarmingly during Lockdown 1. She is very happy at the home and has a beautiful room with ensuite in Daffodil House (the dementia unit). The home is always immaculately clean and my mum is full of praise for both the food and the care. New Meppershall care home has just had a CQC inspection which rates it as GOOD. From my experience it is better than that and the staff are excellent.

Management should think about teaching staff manners and general respect for everyone who enters. Uniform standards are lacking and residents are not greeted by name on entering. Management do not greet you or new residents, they just ring carers to collect. The man at front door mumbles and doesn't seem to know anything. Find him very unprofessional. Have met 2 carers who are lovely and the residents responded well to them, however, many lack basic skills. This care home looks nice from the outside but thats where it ends.
