A lovely church that is situated by the river Meon and has lots of history to it. Built in c1230 there is evidence that it had replaced a much earlier Saxon church. Henry VI visited here twice on his royal progresses. Well worth a visit if you like this sort of history. Parking is quite easy and I recommend that once you have visited this church, make your way just across the road to the other historic church of Corhampton.

The situation of this beautiful Meon Valley church could not be more perfect. It sits on a rise of ground beside the River Meon and except for the unusual tower which is C15th, the church is a perfect example of a C13th piece of architecture. Meonstoke was one of the settlements of the Jutish Meonwara tribe, which came under Saxon control in the C7th. An old Medieval route crossed the river at Corhampton and passed close by St Andrews. The church is open to visitors daily.
