Please can I say a huge thank you to the wonderful receptionists and doctors at meltham surgery. You are the kindest and most helpful people I have ever met. I had to phone for an appointment this morning as I was struggling with my breathing. The receptionist was amazing and so polite, I really needed that kindness this morning, thank you. Dr Morton you are a star, thank you so much for your advice. Im strong minded and stubborn but I took your advice and I know Ive done the right thing there. Im so pleased I swapped from the other practice in the village a few years ago, If I had have still been with them I would have been dreading trying to get past the receptionists horrible grumpy manor to even get an appointment. Thank you all so much you are an amazing team xxx

Joined this surgery earlier this year having moved to the area. I'd been concerned to move on from our previous surgery, which we always thought was good...but this one is even better! Have really appreciated their efficiency and the level of care received so far.

Disappointed since the changes at the practice with regard to management, I recently made an appointment in relation to what appears to be a complication of diabetes, on that day dispite leaving an hour to travel a journey that takes 35-40minutes daily I was unavoidably delayed by traffic incidents and arrived 16 minutes late. I was appolgetic and accept that lateness is a problem, and understood that the doctor declined to see me due to this, and accept that there being no other persons in the waiting room is no indication of workload; wishing to pass my apologies I emailed the email address that NHS England provide, I received no response save for an SMS informating me that I had failed to attend an appointment; I checked the patient portal and found that my medical records contained a note that I had failed to attend, which is factually incorrect. I recontacted the surgery by email on the NHS England supplied email and again received no response. I made a further appointment however that was cancelled by the surgery as no doctor was available, I rebooked another appointment which was subsequently also cancelled by the surgery a further appointment has been made. When the appointment was cancelled I raised the issue of the unanswered contact addressed to the Practice Manager. I was assured that the Practice Manager would contact me back, today I received a call from the receptionist advising that the Practice Manager has told them to inform me that the email is not a correct email address and they don't check for emails. Which raises somewhat of a concern that NHS England are supplying an incorrect secure Email address that is not used! An email with no auto response, you can only hazard a guess at what information and referrals could be lost in the ether! It is apparent that there are good people, doctors and receptionists that are being let down by poor leadership who don't wish to deal with concerns when raised. Their interaction has turned a situation where a patient was wishing to apologise for their lateness to one where that patient has concerns as to the risk management and data control of the practice, as even at this point no one has asked the reason for the appointment or considered any risk .....
