Took my wife and daughter here today for a Mothers Day meal. Booked 5 days in advance and all confirmed. Arrived and was shown to a small table in the middle of the room surrounded by other tables. The waitresses were also struggling to get past our chairs and kept apologising as we were being banged into. We were seriously crammed into this tiny space so clearly this table had been an afterthought and shouldnt have been there. Thankfully someone else was a no show so we were moved to a bigger table. We ordered 3 mixed roasts. 30 mins went by and the service team apologised for the delay and told us we were the next table to go through the kitchen. 10 mins on, we were told we were not the next table but would be a further 10 mins 10 mins later we had another apology and was told we were now definitely next (we hadnt asked where our food was - they apologised on their own accord and told us the deserts would be free). So it ended up being over an hour. The food was a bit hit and miss. The beef was perfectly cooked in colour however it was cold. The lamb was kind of warm and the chicken was good. Came with a generous veg selection and 3 roast potatoes. Ordered deserts, and after waiting 15 mins the waiter came to tell us the had ran out of the ones we ordered. Apologised again so we had the choice of a brownie or ice cream. Then in the worst possible move, they served our puddings, only for one to still be frozen in the middle I mean completely dead cold and hadnt been near any heat whatsoever. Again more apologies but this time I did have to ask to have a quiet word which I told the waiter that the service had been a joke. He agreed completely and confirmed it had been really bad. Obviously that desert was sent back and replaced by a cooked one. Now in all fairness the service team did wipe off the deserts and drinks off the bill (2x half pint of Diet Coke and 1 half pint of lemonade) we didnt ask for this and they done it themselves as the service was really that bad. The lady also told me we had been unlucky as every mistake that happened that afternoon only seemed to of affected us. So 45 in the end. However worse was to come upon coming home I wont say which one of us has the curse of the brown rain but its ended up me having to muck out horses this evening as someone needs to remain by the toilet for immediate access. So Ive had to record the F1 - a bit annoying. Overall, no matter how many apologies or offers could be sent my way I would never return. Not even for a pint let alone a meal. Nice people but serious flaws when it comes to service and food. Only gave a 2 star rating because the staff were kind. Noteworthy details: I would avoid.
