We just returned from a long weekend at Bedruthan Hotel and are pretty disappointed with the overall experience. Cons: We arrived at the hotel already feeling skeptical because the outside was so run down and weathered and parking was a nightmare. We were only slightly relieved when we got inside and saw the interior. The dcor reminded me of something you would find in Palm Springs in the 70s, mixed with an earthy, wannabe Scandinavian aesthetic. We were almost so distracted by the view of the sea to notice how unwelcoming the staff was. After checking in, we were informed that there were no phones in the room and the best way to contact the hotel services was using their web application- this would have been fine, IF the wifi wasnt so TERRIBLE and they actually RESPONDED to the chat and call features on the app!!! We spent days trying to get a hold of someone in the SPA, calling and leaving messages etc this was the theme the rest of our stay, with poor customer service and an overall lack of professionalism and proactiveness by the hotel staff. You would think at this price point the experience would have been a bit more elevated also, what is with the uniforms?? The staff look like they are all in a cult (again, maybe to match the 70s vibes?) The room was okay- aged and weathered- definitely not luxury and definitely NOT worth the price tag.. but it was clean and again, the view was gorgeous! The bed was big and comfy but the pillows were rock hard. If you need to connect to the Wifi- good luck, service in the rooms was nonexistent (not all of us have the luxury of being able to go off the grid) Breakfast was absolutely chaos!! After standing there waiting to be checked in for almost 10 minutes, we tried to find a table that was cleaned, and literally EVERY SINGLE table that was not being used was dirty. It was clear that more staff was needed to manage the morning rush to keep the area cleaned and sanitary, especially when there are dogs everywhere. Pros: Lets talk about the reasons I gave it 3 stars- location, views and the Herring Restaurant. I cannot argue with the location of the hotel, it offers beautiful views of the sea that can be enjoyed from our bedroom, the garden and the dining areas. They have done a great job in amplifying this experience with tasteful dcor in the garden, creating inviting outdoor areas to relax. We dined in the Herring Restaurant 3 nights, enjoying the set menu which was absolutely delicious! This is the ONLY time we experienced quality service, and I must shout out the hostess and Ed, our waiter, for his superb knowledge of the menus, his overall delivery and professionalism highlighted the whole evening- Thank you Ed! This place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately not enough to warrant a 2nd visit.

First time in Cornwall and the first time at this hotel, it is such a gorgeous hotel, breathtaking views, beautifully presented rooms, amazing service and the food was outstanding! I didn't get a chance to use the spa, but it looked amazing. The cute shop in the hotel also sells some very unique items. I can't wait to return and explore more
