I have had some pretty 'ropey' stuff in my time - Beef Fillet 'Centre Cut' - "cling filmed" to hide the fact that it was tail. 'Make Weight' stuffed inside a shoulder of Pork - Beef Ribs that could have left the table on their own !! ( Sadly the list is long ) And, unfortunately, its local !! However - I must express my gratitude to 'Nick' ( I believe ) at EWCoates in Darley Dale The Piece of Beef Fillet / Chateaubriand, that I bought a while ago, was lovely ! It motivated me to come back ! So I can only thank you for the beautiful, marbled 5Kg of Pork Shoulder, that I bought yesterday. It smelled so 'fresh' when I opened it today &, unrolling it to marinade & slow cook, it was a 'True Cut'. Couple with 'clear pricing' in the shop, the feeling of cleanliness & the reception / eagerness to help ! Can't do much better really !! Cheers

If you want a good quality butchers this is the place to go and have used them for a number of years Nothing is ever trouble and prices are reasonable for quality food. They make their own pies and sausage rolls, which really are excellent. If your want different cuts of meat again this is the place to go and they know their stuff. All of the staff are very, friendly and cheerful. It's always a pleasure shopping here
