Previous experiences of Doctor Call have been highly satisfactory. Unfortunately the most recent, a little less so. As always, the doctor arrived at my home promptly and was attentive, courteous, thorough and caring. He prescribed 2 medications, one of which had unfortunate side effects (as he said it might) and so could not be continued, the other was quite ineffective. I phoned in and asked for - and quickly received - a call back later which prompted then being given the advice to go to A&E, which rather defeats the object of paying for a private GP visit. I later lodged a request for a second call back later that evening but did not receive it. I went to A&E the next day and despite a five hour wait in a lot of pain, was attended to by a doctor who informed me the medication I had been prescribed was inappropriate (a strange choice) advised me to stop taking it immediately and then prescribed alternatives. Within one hour of starting the new prescription I began to feel much better. It this has knocked my confidence in using DC again in the future, although if needs must, should I be in severe pain and unable to get to A&E quickly, I would probably feel there was no choice but to take the risk. However I have paid 200 plus medication fees for a wholly unhelpful experience.
