The Potting Shed, Bed and Breakfast

We have just had a lovely stay at the Potting Shed. Well presented and laid out and the host was very friendly and accommodating. We had everything we needed and were impressed with the attention to detail and refreshments provided which were kept topped up throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend - thank you for having us! Only downsides were the temperamental hot then cold shower and lack of WiFi - not that WiFi is strictly necessary but this shed is located in an area without phone signal so WiFi would have been helpful for planning trips and finding local attractions.

Comfortable and cosy, The Potting Shed is perfect if you are looking for a place to stay that's 'off the grid' while still being within reasonable distance of civilisation and plenty of local attractions. You even get a full english breakfast brought out to you each morning by the owner, which is absolutely delicious. There are some aspects of the property that could do with updating, improving, refreshing and renewing but overall it's perfect place if you're after a nice quiet getaway and in terms of good value for money and location in North Devon you can't go wrong here.

(Translated by Google) One word: W O W. WOW, that was a great place to stay. Unfortunately we were only here for one night but: wow. But slowly. First of all you have to know that with this B&B you are practically in the middle of the country and you need the car to get to the nearby towns. Then you have to know that the B&B is a bit hidden, you have to take an inconspicuous, sloping driveway in town and drive to the end (50m) until you come to a farm. The building in front of the farm that's it. So, now the exciting thing: firstly, you have a small house just for yourself, secondly, no central heating as heating but a freely usable fireplace that heats up properly, thirdly, no internet (but romance) and lastly: you can have breakfast whenever you want because everything is ready and this B&B seems designed for just one couple. TV, parking lot, easy access, wing chair... Everything is there. And it's super easy not to have internet. The owner is very friendly and it only takes a few minutes by car to get to the nearest larger towns. As far as finding the B&B is concerned... The owner told us that unfortunately she was not allowed to put up a sign etc on the main road. Definitely the coolest B&B for us. (Original) Ein Wort: W O W. WOW, das war ja mal ne geile Unterkunft. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht hier aber: wow. Aber langsam. Zunchst muss man wissen das man bei diesem B&B quasi mitten auf dem Land ist und man das Auto braucht um in die nahe gelegenen Stdte zu kommen. Dann muss man wissen das das B&B etwas versteckt liegt, man muss eine unscheinbare, abschssige Einfahrt im Ort nehmen und bis zum Ende (50m)fahren bis man quasi an einen Bauernhof kommt. Das Gebude vor dem Bauernhof das ist es. So, jetzt das spannende: erstens man hat ein kleines Haus nur fr sich, zweitens als Heizung keine Zentralheizung sondern einen frei nutzbaren Kaminofen der ordentlich einheizt, drittens keinerlei Internet (dafr Romantik) und zuletzt: man kann Frhstcken wann man will da alles bereit steht und dieses B&B quasi nur fr ein einziges Paar ausgelegt scheint. Fernseh, Parkplatz, gute Anbindung, Ohrensessel.... Alles da. Und es ist super einfach mal kein Internet zu haben. Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und bis in die nchst greren Orte dauert es nur ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto. Was das Finden des B&Bs angeht... So sagte uns die Besitzerin das sie leider kein Schild etc an der Hauptstrae aufstellen darf. Definitiv das geilste B&B fr uns.
