Hothorpe Hall at Hothorpe Venues

We had our wedding at The Woodlands and the whole team at Hothorpe Hall were so brilliant in helping us make it such an amazing day. As someone who likes to have things organised, I had slight concerns that we wouldnt have a wedding coordinator assigned until a few months before the wedding, but Aimee and Jess were absolutely brilliant. So friendly and accommodating to all of our questions and requests before and on the day. The whole team are such professionals and everyone kept checking in on us throughout the day - seeing how relaxed and cheerful they were definitely put us at ease! The venue itself was beautiful, we were so lucky to be able to have our ceremony at the hideaway outside, and loved staying at the treehouse. All of guests loved everything from the tipi to the lodges on-site, and the food was even better than at our trial. It was ideal for the laidback and fun wedding we had in mind, and we couldnt have wished for a more perfect spot to celebrate our day!

We got married at the Woodlands and it was beautiful. Bethan and the team were so helpful and organised as we were useless! It's such an intimate setting that you feel like you're just at a party with your family and is suched a chilled atmosphere which is exactly what we wanted. Everyone commented that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding, and the waiting staff/bar staff were very attentive making sure we have everything we needed. The accommodation was 10/10. Clean, the rooms were so amazing overlooking the fields etc. Unfortunately one of our guests lodges did not have toilet roll and we were told there would be a travel cot for our friend's baby but this wasn't supplied in the end. The breakfast the next day was average and didn't blow us away. The hideaway and tippee were amazing, beautiful settings for the ceremony and welcome drinks. We paid for gin and vodka drink stations. It was agreed that at least some of the drinks would be made up, to avoid people pouring themselves home measures and not everyone having a chance to have a drink from there. However we ended up just having bottles and glasses on the stations which obviously means that they didn't last long as all! It is worth saying that the bar was card only. My dad tried to put some cash behind the bar but was refused,as we were not told this prior. After putting some money on his card behind the bar, my dad went and ordered a drink and asked for the cheaper option of 2 brandys. However the bar staff replied don't worry mate it's free, not realising it was him who had put the money there! So again, not everyone had a chance to have a drink from the money put behind the bar as it looks like the staff were pouring the most expensive options! Overall there were some things which weren't perfect as mentioned. But the day was organised and beautiful. We would recommend as a venue, but get your wallet ready!
