Disappointing to say the least. The soup was lukewarm and tasted like salt and a little bit of herbs...but mostly just salt. The mushroom risotto straight up tasted like salt with a salty cheese sprinkled on top. The third dish was better but just regular pub food, not michelin star. For the food quality, ambiance and the casual service, I would say the prices are seriously inflated. To be honest, this is our fourth foray into Michelin rated restaurants in the UK and just seems like Japanese, French and US restaurants are held to a higher standard. . I

Weve been numerous times without a booking and we always manage to get a seat. Favourite place to sit is at the bar. Service is always top notch with the friendliest of people. I dream constantly about the mushroom Risotto, soups, burger just the whole menu.

Having eaten at Mr. Kerridges Butchers Tap the previous evening and on advice from friends in the area Tammy and I dropped in to sample the delights of a first visit to a Michelin starred hostelry. The fact that we could literally walk in without a reservation was a clincher for us and we were greeted by friendly staff. The surroundings were great and the highlight was being able to watch head chef (and recently crowned Michelin Young Chef 2023 ) Sarah Haywood oversea and prepare the goodies on offer. Her relaxed attitude was admirable and the food was so quick to arrive that it was impressive. So why not 5 stars from me. The food was filled with strong flavours and presented well. I cant put my finger on it but whilst I accept it is a small plates restaurant and we have visited many across the UK with food equally as impressive, we just felt that the selection was maybe too limited for all dining tastes and maybe the whole experience a little staged. Please dont let this put you off though. As we all know, food and taste and of course dining experience is very, very subjective and you may disagree. For me though, I preferred the exceptional offerings at the Butchers Tap. In any case, enjoy your visit and have a great evening if you choose to visit.
