I signed up with John after many years with various guitar tutors, having struggled to make a really impact on my guitar playing. John at Medusa Music provided me with a very structured approach (around my personal goals) with very flexible timing, which suited my hectic work schedule. Johns knowledge, experience and friendly teaching style is second to none. He has an inane ability to break down complex music theory into simple/digestible chunks whilst also ensuring you are motivated to exceed your personal goals. If you are looking for a guitar tutor who can engage and motivate you to improve and excel your guitar playing. I'd recommend John Parker as one of the best guitar tutors around!

Having been a former student of the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in London, and having moved to the area I was very fortunate to come across John. He met the same standards as the tutors I was used to and it was a natural progression to be taught by him. Not only does he have an in-depth knowledge on technique and theory but his overall affable style of teaching improved my playing considerably AND boosted my confidence to feel I could achieve more. He is very accommodating. It feels nothing is too much trouble for him. All genres are catered for, jazz, scales, modes, sweep picking, arpeggios, fx, whammy bar, legato, rhythmic displacement, metal, etc. The nicest chap you could possibly meet! Raise your game, meet John!

My son William has been having electric guitar lessons with John for several years and recently gained a grade 5 merit at his grading. He's always made lessons fun and his obvious love of guitar music and teaching is both inspirational and infectious. The routine of learning is broken up with sessions on recording music, guitar maintenance and discussions of everything and anything guitar related. Everything you want, thoroughly recommend him.

We would thoroughly recommend John as a guitar teacher. He is an extremely knowledgeable expert guitarist, conveys the technical side in a very accessible way, has lots of professional musical equipment, and makes the lessons very enjoyable in a professional and enthusiastic way. Our son has been a pupil of Johns for the last six years, has passed all his guitar grade exams first time, and will shortly be taking his grade 6 in Rockschool, which can contribute towards UCAS points. We feel that John has been a very positive influence on our son, and again, we would thoroughly recommend him as a guitar teacher.
