Whilst I have had a few bikes over the years, I had never really taken to this activity. I don't commute - I'm a real petrolhead - but also a highly competitive person. Due to an old rugby injury I have found myself in this situation where Ive becoming more and more inactive, adding a lot of timber onto my big frame. This is obviously not a healthy place to be. I was lucky to get a cortisone injection which has taken away a lot of my pain in my ankle and this has given me an immense amount of relief. However, this is not sustainable as the effects will wear off over time. I borrowed a friends e-mountain bike a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how this weight bearing ability allowed me to exercise. Within a matter of days, I was hooked and decided to make a purchase. I did a lot of research online and decided to go for the Trek brand of cycles but was unsure which one was going to be suitable for me. Last weekend I approached a national chain for advice but their stock levels were very, very low and whilst the salesman was helpful I felt that I could do better. I visited Saddle Safari. I'm was amazed at the Tardis size of the shop that greeted me as well as some very capable, welcoming staff. They quickly assessed my situation and helped me choose the bike that suited me. This was conducted in a very friendly and professional way. (I love being sold to by people who are passionate with a great product!). I put down my deposit to secure the bike and had some time to think about this over the weekend. Very quickly I came to a purchase decision and then the fun really started... I collected my bike a few days later and the handover took over an hour and a half. You may think that a bike is a bike but Mike Wright went over every single aspect. This was extremely helpful and reassuring. I cycled home that night from Marlow uphill towards my home with a headwind but this didn't take the smile off my face. Early days but this has been the start of an incredible journey for me, rediscovering all those endorphins and allowing me to play with my mates who are already cycling. Highly addictive! ***Update*** January 2023 - 2,800 miles later on my bike - thrilled with the bike now as I was on day one. I ride most days, around 20 miles, for pleasure. This has helped me get my weight down (lost six stones), got my fitness back - mentally feeling great and the health benefits are there to see...

Fantastic service, really friendly and helpful. We wanted a bike for my daughters birthday and they went over and above to make sure it arrived and was set up in time.
