Andrews butchers is the best ever, the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful with choice of meats and cooking ideas. Bbq food scrumptious, we even buy our dog meat from them, a very happy doggie. My beef curry with Bombay potatoes, who needs a curry house!

I was told that Andrews did great baquettes to take away so I headed there recently with an order for 4. It took a while to be served even though it wasn't that busy but not a big issue. What was much more concerning was that the two people making the baquettes were both handling raw meat (steak, bacon) and then immediately handling the salad ingredients, and neither was wearing gloves or using any kitchen tongs. I would have expected at least some basic handwashing between these steps and better still would have been one person doing the meat and one doing the salad. Instead there was almost certainly lots of cross contamination with potential consequences to the health of customers. This very clear display of a lack of basic food hygiene is a real surprise given how we are all much more focused on hygiene and hand washing these days and I hope that things improve soon.
