me and my mates decided to go for a visit at about 5-6 o'clock mid week. we were met with hostility straight away but shrugged it off. we went and sat at a table in the bar and ordered food and some drinks for ourselves which were cokes and not alcoholic drinks. when the food arrived we were told that we weren't welcome in the pub and had to go outside and eat in the freezing cold because we were underage. we were the only ones inside the pub at the time (speaks for itself really) and we weren't causing any problems we were just waiting for our food. we proceeded to go outside and eat our food, if we hadn't paid for it we would of left there and then. Then we got told that we needed to show ID to stay at the pub even though we hadn't bought any alcohol. as far as i was concerned we were paying customers and had come in for food and drinks, and purely because of our age we were treated disgustingly and unfairly. All this happened AFTER they accepted our money as well. after some words exchanged, we left to be later told by a friend that we have been barred. I've been going to this pub for years now ever since i was little and i don't remember it being this bad so i recommend avoid this pub. we ended up going to the Field Head and was met with fab service. There's many pubs in Markfield, we will avoid this one and spend a few more minutes walking to another one.

A busy pub with friendly staff. It was only a quick visit to break up a long journey, so I can't really say much more.

Top class food, top class service, I would highly recommend. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that there is no such thing as perfection
