The Olive Modern Cuisine

We've enjoyed visiting here a couple of times recently. The food is good, as is the service and atmosphere. We would though like to see a more varied / extensive menu.

Had a lovely evening at The Olive for our anniversary last night. We had the scallops and fishcake starters and Steak and duck for the mains. The dishes were presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The staff were very attentive and we didn't wait long for our courses. The only criticisms we had was that we could have done with one more scallop and fishcake for the starters and we would also ask not to sit near the food serving hatch next time as the lights were too bright and it wasn't very private.

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with instant confrontation because two members of the party were not wearing masks. When the staff asked why they were not wearing masks, they disclosed that they both had medical conditions so therefore were exempt from wearing a mask or face covering. The staff then said it was mandatory to wear a mask or visor even with heath conditions? This is not what I wanted to be greeted with when trying to enjoy our last meal out before lockdown
