We got a bit unlucky with a staff member who was apparently let go soon after our work. On the positive side, Craig (the boss and a nice guy) tried his best to put things right by returning twice over the next weeks to redo walls that the PVA layer was not done well, and other walls where lots of cracks quickly appeared but we have had to do lots of extra work, the walls were not ready for paint. None of the plug or light switch surrounds were removed pre-plastering, so they were all a total mess, and the skirting heights were inconsistent and needed plastering lower (Craig also returned to do this). The floors were not covered at all, so plaster was everywhere. Luckily we were having the floors redone afterwards so this didnt cause as many issues as we were worried about, except for so much extra dust as they were being sanded and we did lots of the clean up ourselves. The job only slightly went over time due to apparent staffing issues, but the removal of all the waste materials took another two weeks and lots of badgering. I might employ them again, but I would make sure the staffing issues were not there next time, and with my extra exprience, I would know what to ask for and what to notice when things were not being done well.
