Go With The Flow Doula

Choosing a doula felt like an overwhelmingly difficult task..... until I met Paula. From the moment we met her we knew we were in safe and knowledgeable hands. In the lead up she gave us birth preparation classes in the comfort of our own home, helped us make our birth plan and write it, and attended antenatal medical appointments when I needed her support and knowledge and questioning mind. She was always available at the end of the phone for wisdom and understanding between our planned sessions. During our birth she did everything and more that we needed and didn't know we needed. She was useful in a practical sense, emotional sense, protective sense. I never doubted my body's own abilities with Paula by our side. Her passion for birthing people is magical and infectious and I can't recommend her highly enough. Paula's presence will make you feel safe, powerful and loved.

I knew the minute I fell pregnant that Paula was going to be my doula. It's a strange thing being a doula and choosing a doula for yourself and we chose well. Paula was the most loving and gentle companion throughout my pregnancy. She was always there with a virtual hug, words of love and encouragement, a breath of warmth and light. She exudes oxytocin and I felt lifted and warm after every time we connected. I cannot thank her enough for holding me throughout my pregnancy... she did so with such sensitivity and grace. Plus I love her face on video messages SO much. On our birthing day, I was in denial about my 'twinges' but Paula knew to ignore me and come right away and I'm so glad she did. She arrived as I was roaring my baby into the world. In my oxytocin, fast birth filled haze, I remember her coming into the room and going 'ooo' and I instantly felt tension drift from my shoulders and a flutter of excitement. After the birth, Paula looked after our other kids, mothered the midwives, mothered me, massaged my legs (OMG everyone needs this post birth!) and told me how amazing I had been. I didn't want her to leave. I have to stop here because I could say so so much more. I love you Paula, thank you so much with every fibre of my being. But suffice to say, Doulas need Doulas too. And this Doula chose Paula because she's proper magic! I suggest you do too.
