Brilliant place to stay whilst visiting parents, but also took the opportunity to visit local attractions like Barnsdale Gardens, Rutland Water and Lyveden New Bield. Enjoyed the gardens at the accommodation as well and the hosts Hugh and Emma could not have been more helpful and friendly. This is a great place to stay for a couple and highly recomended.

Beautiful place to spend some time. The sounds of sheep, birds and horses provide a restful backdrop. The facilities are excellent, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The terrace and garden are welcoming surroundings. There is plenty of room for parking. Rutland Water and the villages surrounding it are well worth visiting (especially Hambleton) and the displays of bluebells are impressive. I would highly recommend the cottage.

A truly beautiful location not far from Rutland Water and a great base to explore from. Caroline, the owner, is very welcoming and helpful. Decor of the apartments is quite dated and they could do with a revamp but the quality of furnishings etc is very high and the bed was the comfiest I think I have slept in! Beautiful gardens to wander around and plenty of rambling in the local area so no need to drive really unless you want to. Great pub, Horse and Jockey, is an easy 2 minute walk away and there are lots more pubs etc just a few miles away in the surrounding villages. Only downside was the owner's family were visiting too and the stairs that should have been our exclusive access were shared which meant bumping into strangers every now and then as well as the awful smell of tobacco smoke from a room that shared the landing we had access to. All in all though, a truly wonderful place to stay and we will go back!
