I was a tenent through this letting agency for just over 6 months never had any issues ( except for grumpy neighbors) untill shorty after my 6 months review, during my review the guy in charge of the property said there was nothing wrong and was pleased with how things where coming along. Shortly after that the cooker in the property stopped working, I rang swift enterprise and a lady answered the phone when I said the cooker wasn't working she asked what type of cooker it was, I didn't know of the top of my head and as I was at work at the time I couldn't check I assumed it was an electric cooker and said that ( it wasn't by the way) after they sent an electrician out he said there wasn't anything he could do as it's a gas cooker, soon after that I received a very disgruntled call from swift enterprise from the lady I spoke to before, she was not happy as she said that I made her look a fool for sending an electrician to fix a gas cooker, I said that I thought she would know if it was a gas cooker or not and her reply was" Mr Horne I look after hundreds of property you can't possibly expect me to remember every single cooker in every property" which at the time made a lot of sense to me but now I'm a bit older and smarted I realised that yes she should know as if it's a gas cooker there needs to be a gas safety certificate ( which there was but it had failed) or if it's an electrical one it needs PAT testing. Soon after this the woman came round the property while my partner was in and inspected the property then left without saying anything, we got a letter in the post the next day saying that they where going to do another inspection in a few weeks and we had to get all the damages to the property repaired, Very confused I rang asking what damages to the property where she claimed there was damages to the walls doors carpet and blinds(there wasn't any the damage to the door was a dirty handprint and the bonds where just folded back a bit), in response to this I took photos all over the property of every wall and door. After what seemed like an eternity I moved back out of that property and managed to get my full bond back, but even then it didn't end as the letting agency gave my personal detail to the landlord ( who I had no connections with) where he started demanding 400 My advice to anyone thinking of renting through these would be to record everything, any phone conversations, any visits and make copy's of any and every piece of paperwork they give you. Hopefully what happened to me was a one of and I'll be the first to admit I could of taken better care of the property but it was certainly no where near as bad as they made it out to be.
