I simply could not ask for a more professional, flexible and friendly approach to fitness training. Rom offers great expertise in a way that keeps each session fresh, engaging and enjoyable. His online sessions maintain his offering of unwavering enthusiasm and passion and continue to push and motivate me towards my goal. An absolute gem of a PT for anyone working towards personal fitness goals.

Rom's sessions are as good online as they are face to face... he is extremely professional and passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals whether it be training for an event, for fitness, for fun or for rehabilitation. I didn't know how he could make me work so hard in a short session but definitely feel the results! Rom is extremely thorough in putting together and adapting every session to meet client needs and is always checking correct form even online. I cannot praise Rom enough for all the hard work that keeps me motivated, training hard and ensuring all done safely. Thanks Rom!

Rom has been my PT for about 5 years now. He's really helped my overall fitness and changed my attitude to exercise. He knows when and how to push, and when to support and encourage, and varies sessions so I am never bored. They act as great decompression time from my busy work days. Whereas previously my commitment to gyms and classes have waned, I find Rom's PT sessions something I can commit to. He set challenges that means I have achieved more than I ever expected ( a Half Marathon and Tough Mudder are my biggest achievements to date). However the biggest wins from exercising with Rom with core strength training he has helped me eradicate lower back problems that had troubled me for a few years and it has also improved my mental wellbeing. Since starting with Rom, friends and family with differing fitness levels have begun to train with him too which I think is great testimony to his broad range of PT skills. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I've always used a gym and was a bit lost and unmotivated when lockdown happened then I tried Rom's online sessions and I got my motivation back! Rom mixes things up each week and knows what I'm capable of achieving and when I'm being a bit lazy! I think I've improved more in our last 2 months than the last 7 years at my old gym, will definitely doing more Rom sessions than gym sessions!

As part of a Thirty Day Writing Challenge I recently completed, I had to write about an area of my life that I believed was going well. When a middle-aged pensioner thinks that her fitness levels are what shes most pleased with, its proof of the abilities of the Personal Trainer who has helped this to happen. Heres an edited version of the post that I wrote. Three years ago, I lost a lot of weight four stones to be exact. I did this mainly by eating sensibly, walking my dog daily and attending a yoga class once a week. Since moving to a new house, although Im still walking each day, I havent found another yoga class I like. I have MS, so I was aware Id lost some strength, dexterity, and balance generally; plus, after the weight loss, there were bits of me that needed toning. I began to look at local gyms to see if that were the answer, but wow they were expensive, and I didnt think Id deal with the environment too many stimuli for me to process. Id joined gyms in the past and gradually Id lose the impetus to attend. My sister-in-law had mentioned her personal trainer to me, but I felt foolish about working with one and conscious that having MS may deter them wanting to help me. After all, I wasnt training for anything specific like a 10k or a triathlon. Luckily, Alison mentioned this to said personal trainer, Rom of PT ROM and Yolo Fitness, and he offered to talk with me to see if he could help with the goals that I had. After wed spoken, we agreed a trial session. My aims were simple - to improve my overall fitness and strength. Ill admit I was very apprehensive before the first session. Im middle aged, hadnt participated in sports for umpteen years and the array of equipment was daunting. I really didnt want to embarrass myself, Alison, or Rom. I neednt have worried. Rom was brilliant, assessing my general level of fitness first and taking measurements of body fat, blood pressure etc. I still get a thrill when I realise, Im no longer obese; seeing that all my results were in the normal range was the boost I needed to start training. I now see Rom twice a week for half hour training sessions. The content of each session is varied boxing, rowing, cycling, running, step, weights, planks, squats, crunches; boredom isnt possible! Its hard work, but Ive learned that I can do so much more than I thought and the endorphins after a workout are marvellous. I appreciate that Im guided through the exercises; its important that I trust Rom. I know Im in safe hands and if Im doing something the wrong way, itll quickly be corrected. Rom encourages me too and knows when to push or when to ease up. Physically I notice the difference a slight definition here and there and a hint of muscle. Mentally it benefits me too; for example, my co-ordination and balance can be a bit ropey, so repeating a sequence of exercises creates new neural pathways. My confidence has grown also Im able to complete exercises now that I couldnt believe Id be able to do when I began training. I dont panic I cant do that when Im shown a new sequence. I just do ithmm, wouldnt that make a good company slogan?!
