Herdwicks of Highfields Farm. Self Catering Holiday Barns in the Peak District

We had a most relaxing and restorative stay. The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly equipped; situated amongst breathtaking scenery, in an excellent location for exploring Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The herdwick sheep were marvellous! We couldn't have asked for any more from our time at Highfields. Very grateful to the brilliant hosts. We hope to return very soon.

We have recently returned from our seventh visit to this fantastic barn conversion and can only reiterate the excellent comments already written. Any guests who stay in this fabulous cottage must take advantage of Kates offer to take you on a walk around the farm. Where else can you go and enter a large field and Droopsy and his gang run across the field to meet you for a stroke and cuddle. We were also lucky to visit during the lambing season and witness lambs being born and also have the opportunity to bottle feed the cades. In addition to the country walks and local market towns (Bakewell, Buxton, Leek and Chatsworth), within an hours drive you can be in Manchester watching football or in Stoke visiting the pottery factories. Kate & Nev are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and they go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. As you can imagine we have already booked for another visit in September.
