I live a long way away from this dealership and paid 400 for it to be delivered, I'd seen videos and was happy with the body work, it came with an MOT and a service, so I thought what can go wrong? The key came not working, I thought no worries as I can get a new battery. When the car was dropped of the guy had trouble started the car and acted confused. This kept happening!! Struggling to start but eventually starting anyway. I change the battery in the car and when doing so had found the the original battery had be plonked on a bit of chip board?? The problem persisted... I got told it was a key issue and bought a new key and the problem persisted.... Mini garage told me it was a coil pack... the problem persisted... After looking in to car further it had a problem with the imbolitzier, someone had tried to fix it but it but was a bodged job and made the car have further issues. It appears that Mini independent either didn't do the appropriate checks to ensure the car was in working condition or it was infact them that knew the issue was there, tried to fix the problem and bodged it, only for it not to be fixed correctly and cause more issues. Mini independent should have ensured the key was in working condition, this would have then showed them it was more than a key issue, but even still, if they had done a diagnosis the issue, with ring connector, imbolitzier and key would have showed. Oh what else will a find wrong with this car I wonder... Edit to reply: I did buy a new key, it didn't work, this is also the 5th key for this car before coming to me, so it is not over 20 years old. I did contact you guys, and you told me it was the coil pack and DEFINITELY not the immobiliser, leading me to spend more money only to realise it is the immobiliser, you were not very helpful and quite miserable on the phone when I discussed this and felt I couldn't keep asking more questions. And you also said there's nothing you can do. There shouldn't be an issue for ordering a car 300 miles away when the car was promised to be in good working use and came with a warranty (that doesn't actually cover much at all) Why was the car not diagnosed? Codes appear with the issues, and they weren't fixed. Why wasn't the key battery replaced? This would have led you to realise it wasn't the key. Why was there a plank of wood in the engine unnoticed? It's taken me this long to read a review as I've only just found the issue after months of looking into it! Also.... you're telling me to take it for a long drive... was 300 miles delivery, not a long enough drive for the car to charge??
