There's no real school to prepare you for a Product Management career just like there's no one straight path you can take with it. Bloomentor is what I wish I had years ago starting out as a PM with little to no guidance available to help me grow. Having all this talent in one community, from so many different shades of Product Management, and enabling an exchange of ideas, guidance and support, is what's been truly missing from the PM toolkit.

When I started looking for my next role after Plaids headcount reduction in Europe, I was looking for a leadership role in a London based, early stage startup. But I didnt know where to start as the usual sources of job postings didnt provide enough signal to find very good early stage startups. Thats when Bloom and especially Sam were super helpful. They have a great reputation and superb connections already in the UK and EU and they connected me to Portfolio Ventures who have investments in 50+ UK based startups. This opened a crucial door for me and it led to me finding a VP of Eng role at Focaldata. Sam also volunteered a lot of time helping me understand the startup landscape and evaluate offers and I always felt like he was on my side instead of just trying to close a deal asap. I would recommend Sam and Bloom to anyone looking for a leadership role in high growth technology companies in the UK and EU.

I'm so pleased I joined the Bloomentor network. Sam put real thought into matching me with mentors he felt I'd connect well with and learn lots from - I was even paired with two mentors, which is amazing given how hard it can be to even find just one mentor normally! I've felt really supported by my two mentors, who both bring their own unique perspective and reflections, and it's motivated me to really invest in my own self-development in a way that I wouldn't have done previously. Both mentors have tons of Product experience at really credible, well-known companies. I've been able to learn from their experience and apply that to my own career and role. I have had pleasure of working with Alex and I have no hesitation is saying that Alex and Bloom are setting a new high-water mark when it comes to talent partnership in software engineering. Their Bloom Mentor Programme is one of the more far-reaching initiative that I also have had the chance to participate in. Such a simple but powerful idea: a mentorship program where experienced engineers and engineering managers give their time, for free, to help advance the careers of up and coming engineers and engineering managers. I think this is invaluable and holds a tremendous potential.
