I worked with Quest for a few months as a freelance, solely on IAH. Although they were helpful in getting me started on court appearances, over time I realised they were poor payers - taking a year to pay me for some jobs, far longer than 30 days on most - usually months. They haven't been straight with me about my future prospects with them either. After getting more offers pre-Covid, reassurances of more work - drafting, more IAH - never materialised since lockdowns began and I was recently dropped from their supplier list without warning or reason, which had nothing to do with my past performance or my availability. Last time I spoke to the Director they were pleased with my work. I have never had any complaints. So, naturally I am disappointed that they say one thing and do another. I don't consider their behaviour to be very professional. EDIT UPDATE: In response to Quest response below. If I had known from the start that Quest only operated on a student graduate 'throughput treadmill' basis with annual in and then out churn, rather than building up client to freelance relationships over time, I probably wouldn't have bothered signing up with them in the first place. I spent hours doing training for which I was not paid; and I spent a fair amount of 'court worthy' clothing to look smart on the job. All of which are no good to me in my other freelance work. Furthermore, with no recent enough experience of doing this work, my CV is not impressive to rival practices either, one of which had shown a great deal of interest in taking me on - rendering all of my investment in Quest a complete waste of time. That is why I am so annoyed! Rebecca's response also doesn't address my two key points: bad payment track record and lack of transparency over what they told me about my future prospects. 1. There is nothing in the contract I signed that stated specifically what the payment terms are. But it is generally not acceptable, contract or no contract terms, to pay so infrequently as Quest did. There are laws in place regarding this to protect freelancers from poor client payers. If rival practices can pay at 30 days, so can Quest. 2. If you had written a letter explaining your change of hiring policy much earlier on, instead of leading me up the garden path - as Quest did, I might have spared you the embarrassment of reading this review. Perhaps other students you might take on wish to know that their student fees or living expenses are hardly likely to be paid off quickly waiting for Quest payments to come through. That might well deter some of them from applying. As for inviting me to phone into the Director to discuss these points further. What would be the point? I did that already and never got a truthful answer. So I don't wish to experience that again.

Not satisfied with the level of service I received in terms of knowledge and expertise by my advovate, in my opinion. Also a failure to acknowledge this despite given fair opportunity.
