Premier Inn Manchester Central hotel

The hotel is conveniently located next to the convention centre (1min walk). The staff is friendly and helpful. Typical English breakfast buffet is served at the restaurant next door. Unfortunately the building has seen better days. The rooms seem fine at first glance but when you look closer you find stains, damaged furniture, dirty corners, wobbly shower fixtures and so on. The floors were sticky and when we had to ask for more towels, we got towels that have obviously been used before. The hallway at our room was smelled like moldy carpets, so bad that we had to hold our breath when walking from the elevators to our room. Nevertheless the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable. But for >450 for three nights, we expected more. Next time when we come to Manchester we will stay at a different hotel.

Had a takeaway in hand as I arrived, the receptionist was so sweet and hurried check in as he knew I probably wanted to eat it and get my room as I had travelled far - even going to the restaurant to get me a fork! The breakfast buffet was the cleanest one I had been too and really well stocked as I know these things can easily get out of control. It's the little things and these were really appreciated and make the stay pleasant.
