I had a dress altered. Big frill hem lifted up so dress is now knee length and the puff sleeves changed to straight shoulders. Paid 40 and very happy with the result. Done sooner than promised and good communication by text. I took a secondhand jacket in today to get the fake plastic facings replaced with normal lining fabric, and was quoted 90. As the jacket was only 35, this was too expensive for me. I have sorted the issue myself by rubbing away the dessicated plastic down to the cotton lining, so no more plastic bits flaking off and 90 saved. The chap behind the desk is very pleasant, and his work on my dress was very good, however, when trying to communicate what I want done ( pretty important when discussing alterations) his poor command of English makes this very frustrating and concerning. If I had left my jacket with him for repair, I would not have been at all confident that he had understood what I had requested. I feel a bit bad about raising this as an issue, but it has put me off using their service again. Plus, he allowed a very rude lady to butt in and ask him questions while he was talking to me. He should have asked her to wait, as he was talking to another customer. And she she should not have butted in in the first place. Service: Alterations

Please read the reviews before using here!!!Had a basic off the rail dress taken up a few inches last year. Cost 45. My friends dresses cost 6 elsewhere including being taken up and more extensive work (taken up and taken in). The work was also not done by the absolute latest date possible so put me in a horrible position. Staff were rude and little privacy in the changing room which faces outwards onto a busy main road (although I believe they are changing the layout of the shop). Do not recommend, overpriced and rude. Service: Alterations

* Review based purely on calling at the shop * I searched for alterations in my area and this business popped up stating they were open and available for in store shopping. I popped down to find a locked door and a closed sign but could see the lady inside, I appreciated she could be doing an apt (however I still find it bizarre that the door was locked even so) so I waited at the door. I was seen but ignored for about 15 minutes after which the lady came to the door and rather rudely huffed and barked appointment only. Purely from that one interaction (I hadnt seen previous reviews at that point) I will not be considering this business for alterations. I guess that wont bother them with how busy / overwhelmed they currently seem.

This is the worst small business I have used in the last five years. It took five weeks to shorten the sleeves on my jacket (I was promised a week). I asked for two shirts to be shortened and Christine tried to charge me 50 with a guilty look on her face! The same service at superstitch in Cheadle was 30. The shop always seems chaotic. I will never use again. Service: General sewing
