avoid like the plague!! i was literally going to be homeless tonight for several days, as advised by my housing support worker i called, basically sobbing my eyes out saying i needed somewhere to stay, i have a past history of suffering from domestic violence and needed anything, somewhere. the lady on the phone was incredibly cold, only repeating to me that they are restricting help to young people and that theres nothing they can do, i insisted do they not have a duty to report this? to anyone? im a vulnerable young girl and all she could tell me is to call up a homeless shelter tomorrow, i understand if they had no places for me to stay but the way she talked to me felt so degrading and demeaning- ive been sofa surfing since August and I hate the fact I have to rely on others for help, so the fact she treated me like this made things even worse.
