The building society may be good but unfortunately it is let down by poor customer service. We visited to enquire about opening an account. We were polite (although maybe slightly dishevelled due to the atrocious weather) when we visited but we were unfortunately made to feel quite unwelcome for the couple of minutes that we were there. I asked about how we would go about opening an account and was firstly questioned about my job role (which was irrelevant as the account wasn't even for me), and then we were quite rudely asked what account we wanted and were told that the accounts are not for depositing and withdrawing money, they are for saving. Nothing had been said by us to indicate that the account wouldn't be used for saving. This may only be one member of staff who has a poor attitude... a blonde lady, however, it left a sour taste in our mouths

Really friendly and helpful staff. You can tell this place really cares about not only their customers but the local community as a whole.
