First Street Bar And Kitchen

Odd experience, what looked like an entrance with a menu, stairs, door turned out to be shut. We eventually found the right entrance. We waited at what looked like a waiting point to be sat at our table, a few staff just ignored us and walked past, so we moved forward a little bit more and eventually got noticed. We sat down at our table, almost an empty restaurant but we were sat right at the front unlike other diners who had a view out of the windows. Asked for a bread basket, got given 5 toasted slices of rustic bread (well there were 5 of us so I'm guessing one per person they thought was plenty as it was free). Meals came out pretty quickly, service was ok. I was expecting the chicken to be warm on the Caesar salad rather than straight out of the fridge. All in all a nice place, good food just felt like a strange place. Dietary restrictions: They have a book with all the dishes ingredients for anyone with dietary requirements. Chicken is halal but beef isn't.

Having first been made aware of the restaurant via a Wowcher deal, myself and my family have become regular diners at the restaurant. The food is at a very high standard but in particular the manager Jamie stands as a credit to the business and always makes us feel welcome and gives great insight, great recommendations and stellar service!

Just had a lovely post marathon celebration meal. All the staff were fantastic including the manager on the phone when we made the reservation and the staff who looked after us during the meal. It makes a lovely refreshing change to come across staff who really go out of their way to be polite, courteous and attentive . Well done team First St Bar & Kitchen

Had a great evening here tonight ! The food was excellent, great portions and perfectly cooked. The staff were extremely good, especially Adam who provided us with everything we needed. We were regularly offered drinks and water top ups throughout the meal , making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere and lovely place. Would recommend highly and will be going again very soon. Thanks
