Power cut which was a negative fault: engineer that attended made it clear that fault can damage electrical equipment.. my house alarm was cooked and hasnt worked since.. northern power grid will not entertain a claim: rubbish comms and disgusted that they will not compensate . Very unfair .. I have damage due to them and have to have alarm fixed.

On Wednesday,14th July, i experienced a power cut at my home in Intake, Sheffield at 0540. It took out all my electricity supply and there was no logical reason for it as nothing had tripped out on the power board. I tried all the normal checks but to no avail. My wife had recently passed away from terminal cancer and her funeral was due the following day so i was already in an anxious and emotional state. The support and service i got from Northern power grid was beyond exceptional.From ringing Northern power free phone number at 6 am that morning, i was connected to a lovely lady called Lesley who guided me through various checks and we found that there was no power coming into the house as there was no meter display. She immediately arranged for an emergency response team to call within the next 3 hours. I was so emotionally upset due to my wife's death that i broke down on the phone to Lesley. She offered me support that would have rivaled the Samaritans helpline offering me a listening ear and whatever help she could provide. The response team arrived at 0750 and found the fault immediately which was due to a worn fuse in the meter box. Due to my wife's funeral the following day they arranged to carry out the repair that day. Lesley again rang me after the visit to check i was ok. James and a trainee technician arrived at 0920 and completed the repair quickly and professionally and were very friendly and hospitable. I was completely in awe of the swift service provided by Nrth power grid personnel in my time of need. Superb. And to top it, i have received a hamper via interflora with deepest sympathies. Incredible! Thank you to all the team at Northern Power grid. The funeral went superbly and was a celebration of my wife's life. Outstanding service. Eddie
