(RGN) Interviewed with the deputy manager, (Maidenhead) Never laid eyes on the manager even though he was at work. Felt optimistic after the interview, it all changed when I received the pre CONTRACT, I had a few questions which the administrator attempted to answer. The contract is all about the companys benefits and less about you. THE ONE THING THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION WAS THE NOTICE PERIOD FOR BOTH PARTIES!, seemed very one sided. I guess because I dare questioned the contract my application was refused with no feedback from the home since!!.

So glad when I saw my antie after few months. Being abroad is very difficult when you are far from your loved ones, but I trust St Marks so well and i can see that my antie is looked after really well. She is very happy here! Well done Team, what a caring and professional team!

My Dad was transferred here from the Thames Hospice at the beginning of December 2020 for end of life palliative care. At the time we were overjoyed that he was offered a bed at a Bupa ran Home, but, we were left extremely underwhelmed by the experience. - Care Assistants are over-worked. My Dad was actually being showered whilst he was on the toilet. - Poor internal procedures, in particular, during the initial care plan meeting where they missed asking my Dad about his wishes should his health deteriorate. - Lack of empathy and responsibility from the Care Home Manager and some of her staff (it took them 5 days to send condolences when my Dad passed!) We raised a complaint and did receive an apology from the Cate Home Manager over the mistakes which were made. If anybody would need any information, Im happy to answer any questions and/or share evidence of our experience.

My mother moved to St Marks in January 2021. The care she has experienced since her move has been outstanding from initial enquiry onwards. The whole team are passionate about providing the best support possible and are always going above and beyond to ensure she is as happy as can be. I cannot rate this home highly enough and would happily stay here myself if I ever needed it.

St Marks is a Modern care home with excellent facilities, caring staff and a calming atmosphere. My mother moved in to St Marks in March and has been happy since arriving. She loves the activities put on by staff and has made friends in the home with other residents.
