The Boathouse at Boulters Lock

First visit back in 2022 was good. Went there again today (Sunday evening) for a meal but were left disappointed by the service. We wanted a seat next to the river view downstairs but were told its fully booked even though there were empty tables. Alternatively they sat us upstairs but said that we could only have drinks and no food as the manager refused to serve any more food upstairs. When we sat in the balcony/outside area upstairs my husband asked for an ash tray but the waitress refused saying that smoking isnt allowed out here. Last year we sat at the same place and smoking was allowed back then. We have pictures to prove it as the majority of people who sat in the balcony area with us last year were smoking. Youre telling me all the rules had suddenly been changed? The rude lady who was the manager and also her staff were clearly racist and did not want to accommodate us. We had no choice but to leave without buying any drinks or food.
