7/1/20 Visited Holyport for the third time. They had a special offer of adult entry for 1 for all Slough Town or Maidenhead United supporters. In my opinion, this was too good to turn down as Holyport were playing another team local to me, Chalvey Sports. A programme was 1, Tea was 1 and a pin badge 3.50. We were welcomed at the gate which is always nice. Brenda in the Tea Hut was very friendly and welcoming. The ground itself is surrounded by wheat fields on 2 sides. It is not fully enclosed. It had one covered standing area behind the nearest goal, and another seated stand off to the right. Other than that it is all standing and open to the elements. The concrete path doesnt go all the way round, so most of the standing will be on grass. Speaking to one of the volunteers there are big plans afoot for Holyport. The wheat fields have been sold off, but the club will remain in situ with a brand new 3G pitch and a fully enclosed ground. This will be happening in the next 3 years. They are also considering a name change. Summerleaze is well worth a visit, just dont leave it too long.
