We registered here as it was our nearest local vets when getting our new puppy at the time. Having no vet prior knowledge we took the vets opinion and advise therefore seriously and in good faith when we took our puppy there. However on reflection all they cared about was the money sadly. We dealt with a middle aged female vet over the course of a few different visits. She showed no genuine care for our puppy and it felt she just had a lack of interest in him at all (youd really expect a bit of a fuss/general interest in seeing and meeting a puppy surely especially getting him used to the vets/making him happy to come-which we didnt feel was the case) Their customer service and general people/pet interaction skills just need massively improving from our experience. Firstly we were made to have unnecessary tests on our puppy when it just wasnt needed at all. We dealt with staff who were rude, condescending and felt very uncaring towards our puppy. Even just clipping his nails was a big issue for her who called in the nurse and made such a scene about holding him still and down. I felt terrible. After this our puppy was terrified of even going anywhere near the building shaking and distressed. After being very disappointed and extremely upset after a few visits (as we tried to see if it was just a one off!) with the overall service we then registered with another vet practice out of the area. The comparison was very apparent in how we have been treated since. Bollington vets from our point of view only cared about the money at the time and not the welfare of our dog as they did unnecessary and expensive tests. He also was given an injection which totally upset his tummy. Our dog was a fit and healthy puppy who just needed some slight adjustments to improve the food choice that he was given from his breeder. This was never mentioned as a possible reason. I think our main point that they need to remember is that clients are paying customers who should be given all the reasonable choices and have conversations with owners to the decisions about the welfare and care of our pets. Even though they are the supposed experts owners opinions matter and voices should be heard and respected. I hope this feedback is given to the female vet that we dealt with. Youll see who this was from our records and that we then left the practice and this is the reason why.
