Belong Macclesfield

I worked for Belong as a Carer through an Agency called Radian Resourcing. I have always really enjoyed working in care however working as an Agency here made me lose my sparkle for care so I had to take a break from the care field for a while.. Although I met some really lovely staff overall I didn't feel valued by the Belong staff here. A majority of the time the staff I was on shift with wouldn't let me take my break which was unpaid by my Agency so this frustrated me if I missed it. I was ignored constantly when I spoke up about how I was feeling on my shifts, I was also quite shocked with the attitude some staff had towards their job role and myself and this rather distressed me. Some staff thought it was acceptable to off load their own jobs onto the Agencys which left us running the floor half the time whilst they sat down, nothing was equal for us Agency workers. I told my Agency and Belong staff multiple times how I felt on shifts yet nothing was ever done about this perhaps I should of spoken up more to the Belong management. Nevertheless the company cares very well for the elderly and you can't fault the management! I'd feel happy to let a member of my own family here, however if you wanted to work here and be valued as a team member then I suggest you apply through Belong directly as Agency staff just are not valued enough.

belong at home support for my mother was exceptional. She was determined to maintain her independence, and the staff helped her to do this. She was very fond of her carers and they provided her with respect and dignity, being very skilled in judging the balance between care provided and promoting self care. My mum looked forward to her daily visits but still enjoyed having 1 day a week to care for herself. The staff that visited my mum could turn their hand to anything she needed and when required they went the extra mile. Having Belong staff gave myself and my sister peace and confidence that she was safely remaining in her own home which was her greatest wish. Thank you for everything you did, Liz

My mum spent her last 18 months at Belong Macclesfield. She was blind and bedridden with numerous health issues, but retained her sharp intellect and was very aware of her surroundings and what was happening in the world. The care that she received was of a consistently high standard. Staff always tried to involve her in activities and treated her as a valued member of the community. The support that she, and we as her family, received was excellent. Without any doubt, Belong Macclesfield is the best nursing home that I have ever had dealings with....

My auntie moved here for nursing care only yesterday, and immediately we were put at ease by her carers. Her room is lovely with lots of lovely sensory calming things for her to look at. She looked so peaceful and content and. I cannot wait to be able to visit soo on person. Thank you all so much for being so patient and kind to her.
